This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/27/2023
A cool memento to undoubtably go along with a pile of memories as well, offered here is this collection of three (3) IIHF World Junior Championships and World Championship paperweights originally presented to a member of Team Canada’s staff. Featuring two (2) made of glass, one of which dates to the 1988 IIHF World Junior Championships in Moscow, the other one features a goalie statue encased in lucite. The lucite example measuring approx. 7 ½” x 8” x 3”, sports the work of famed European artist, Tomas Almberg and is attributed to being one of only three (3) made that were presented to a Team Canada staff member features the etched signature of the artist as well as the serial number “268/500” on the reverse side. For the two glass pieces, one displays the silhouette of a hockey player and measures approx. 2 ½” x 5” x 1” at its largest points while the other, measuring approx. 5 ¾” x 5 ¾ x 1 at its longest points, shows the 1988 IIHF World Junior Championship event logo. Overall, all three remain in good condition with no wear beyond light handling wear and scratches while the lucite piece shows some yellowing as well.
