Ranked the 5th greatest singer and 38th greatest artist of all-time by Rolling Stone magazine, John Lennon and his work with both the Beatles and as a solo artist is some of the most influential and important art in all facets of both pop culture and world history. A chance to own just a little piece of the historical figure, up for grabs here is this great Beatles relic featuring four strands of Lennon’s hair housed within clear plastic sheets in a small gilt frame, then mounted to a 14 x 11 in. paper backing. The left side of this backing bears a printed copy of a letter of provenance from Marc E. Matney, a high school teacher that attests to receiving the hair from his friend James Bevins in 1992, who himself acquired the hair directly from Lennon backstage with the help of his uncle - the manager of the Red Rock Amphitheater where the Beatles performed on Aug. 26, 1964. A printed full-sized photocopy of this letter is also included. The right side of the backing bears a printed certificate from notable celebrity hair dealer Louis Mushro, who examined Matney's authentication and declares both the document and the lock of hair to be genuine with his fine blue ink signature also penned across the piece. Remaining in good condition with light handling wear to the edges and corners as well as crease running almost length wise across the top of the page, don’t miss out on this piece of Beatles and art history!
