Playing in over 800 National Hockey League contests with Edmonton, Nashville, New York Ottawa and Atlanta despite going undrafted, it was with the Colorado Avalanche that Greg De Vries would spend the most of his NHL tenure with, becoming a fixture in the Avs defense and helping them to a Stanley Cup in 2001. Up for grabs here, is this Edmonton Oilers jersey worn by De Vries during the 1996-97 regular season and playoffs. Made by CCM with the company’s logo along with the NHL shield embroidered into the reverse hem, both size “56” and a partially detached RMC Sports tag are affixed to the inner collar. Decorated over the front with the familiar Oilers crest in layered tackle twill that also features textured details, matching alternate logo patches reside over each shoulder. Modified into a “V-neck” collar, the sleeves and verso have been accented with De Vries’ number “5” in tri-layer tackle twill numerals while “De Vries” is spelt out across the affixed matching nameplate in matching style. Exhibiting good game-wear, numerous stick marks are seen over the sleeves, front and reverse while multiple unrepaired holes and board burns are observed over the sleeves as well with light pilling present on the interior at the elbows. A rare one-year style, an Oilers team tag displaying “Edmonton Oilers Set #3 - 96/97 RMC Sports” is sewn inside the rear tail.
