Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction June 2023
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/27/2023
This Montreal Expos jersey was originally worn by hitting coach Pat Mullin during the 1981 MLB season, and was later recycled to an Expos farm club. Rawlings labeling is affixed to the collar with "44" sizing and "2 inch extra length" tag, with the "Set 1 1981" tag residing to the lower interior. Featuring the Expos logo in tackle twill over the left breast, "19" is sewn to the right breast and verso in matching material, with the "1" having been changed from the "3" that was originally in place in the same spot, while "Mullins" is found over the upper reverse. The jersey shows evidence of a former nameplate across the "Mullins" on the reverse, done when recycled down to the minor leagues, with some glue discolouration from a patch previously placed over the Expos logo on the right breast - also done when recycled. The jersey exhibits light wear to the material, with a small stain on the front placket.
