Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction Spring 2023
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 5/2/2023
One of the most prolific players of the pre-war era of the National Hockey League, the “Stratford Streak” Howie Morenz would lead the Montreal Canadiens to three Stanley Cup championships during his tenure with the club including back-to-back crowns in 1930 and 1931. Issued shortly after winning his second-consecutive and third overall Hart Memorial Trophy as the NHL’s most valuable player offered here is this copy of Morenz’s 1933-34 O-Pee-Chee V304 Series "A" card. Slabbed and displaying a VERY GOOD 3 designation from the graders at BVG, rounded corners and toning along with a crease directly to the left of Howie’s head are of note on this noteworthy cardboard offering. The Beckett holder remains in good condition with some light scratches/scuffs present over each side that are worth noting. Described on the (bilingual) back as one of “most outstanding hockey stars for all time”, this Howie awaits its place in your collection.
