The 39th overall pick of the 1998 NHL Entry Draft by the Dallas Stars, John Erskine would skate in a total of 491 National Hockey League games during his career for Dallas, NY Islanders and Washington, becoming a mainstay in the Capitals lineup from 2006 till the end of his career in 2014. Up for grabs here, is this Dallas Stars third jersey worn by Erskine during the 2003-04 season. Made by KOHO with a lone size “58” tag affixed to the inner collar, a crest patch for KOHO resides over the reverse neckline while the NHL shield has been embroidered into the reverse hem. Decorated over the front of the garment with Dallas’ infamous “Mooterus” team crest that features embroidered details throughout, the lower sleeves have been accented with matching alternate logo patches as well. Having had Erskine’s number “55” sewn to the sleeves and verso in tri-layer tackle twill numerals, “Erskine” is spelt out in matching style across the affixed matching nameplate. Exhibiting just light game-wear, a two-inch-long cut is present at the bottom of the right elbow that doesn’t go through both layers of fabric. Having had a MeiGray patch numbered “B02868” sewn inside the reverse hem, according to the company’s population report, the jersey is a “Third Set 2” specimen. A matching LOA will accompany the piece. Of note, a small stain is seen in the middle of the front crest as well. ADDENDUM - The jersey is actually a game-issued jersey and not a game-worn jersey as previously stated and a new MeiGray LOA with this correction will be included.
