Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction February 2024
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/21/2024
A Memorial Cup champion in 2005 with his hometown London Knights, Brandon Prust would go on to an NHL career that witnessed him suit up in 486 games after being selected 70th overall by the Calgary Flames in 2004. From his time in The Big Apple, we have a Rangers jersey worn by Prust in 2010-11, specifically between Feb 13th and April 4th - according to the accompanying LOA from Steiner. Made by Reebok and sporting a single size “56” label affixed to the inner collar, crests for the NHL and Reebok are found over the front and reverse necklines respectively. Decorated over the front of the tie-neck garment with "New York" diagonally across the chest in red-over-white tackle twill letters, the all-important Rangers 85th anniversary patch is sewn over the right shoulder. The sleeves and verso of the jersey have been accented with "8" in matching style while “Prust” has been spelt out across the affixed arched nameplate across the top of the reverse. Game-wear is light, with no obtrusive marks, and pilling to the interior beneath the fight strap. We should also note that the collar was repaired at some point, with a lot of additional threading added (Getty Image #110467822 (March 18, 2011) shows Prust in a fight with Montreal's Travis Moen, with Moen shown stretching Prust's collar considerably). Prust has signed the fight strap in blue marker. An LOA from Steiner will accompany.
