A veteran of 230 National Hockey League games who was originally drafted 6th overall by the Calgary Flames at the 1998 NHL Entry Draft, Rico Fata would suit up for five NHL clubs including Calgary, New York, Pittsburgh, Atlanta and Washington before heading overseas to play Germany and Switzerland. Up for grabs here, is this Rangers “Lady Liberty” third jersey worn by Fata during the 2001-02 season. A KOHO made garment that features a lone size “56” tag affixed to the inner collar, a KOHO logo patch has been added over the reverse neckline and the NHL shield has been embroidered into the reverse hem. Decorated over the front with a Rangers Statue of Liberty head alternate crest that displays embroidered details, matching alternate logo patches have been added over top of each shoulder while the 9/11 memorial patch has been placed over the right breast. Having had Fata’s number “38” sewn to the sleeves and verso in tri-layer tackle twill numerals, “Fata” is spelt out in matching style in letters that have been arched across the upper back and sewn directly onto the jersey. Worn in just a couple of games, wear is exhibited via board burns over both sleeves with a light stick mark observed near the left elbow and a small unrepaired burn/cut that is present at the lower front. Having had a Rangers “2001-2002 Season Set 1 Game Jersey” team patch added inside the reverse hem alongside a “2001-02 Set 1” MeiGray patch, a Rangers LOA and MeiGray COR will accompany the piece.
