Selected by the Boston Bruins at the 1985 NHL Entry Draft, Alain Cote saw action in parts of four seasons with the Beantowners, and was traded to the Washington Capitals for Bob Gould in September of 1989. This Capitals jersey was worn by Cote during the 1989-90 NHL season. A Maska Air-Knit label is affixed to the collar, with the jersey measuring-out to a size 54. Styled with “Capitals” across the chest in individual white twill letters with “Washington” embroidered above, “39” appears over the sleeves and verso in white-over-blue tackle twill, with stars affixed to the upper chest and sleeves. There are a few marks from game-use to the sleeves, with small stains to the lower front and right cuff as well as pilling to the interior. The jersey shows signs of a former longer nameplate, with Kent Carlson wearing the #39 in 1988-89 (2 games).
