A long-time fan favourite of the Sabres faithful that played all but eleven (11) of his 900 games played in the National Hockey League with Buffalo, Rob Ray’s Sabres journey would start when the franchise selected him 97th overall at the 1988 NHL Entry Draft. The 1999 King Clancy Memorial Trophy winner, offered here is this Sabres jersey worn by Ray during the 2000-01 season. Made by CCM, a brand label displaying a "Made in Canada" designation which has also had a size "58" fly tag affixed to it is sewn to the inside of the collar while a CCM logo patch has been added over the reverse neckline and the NHL shield has been embroidered into the reverse hem. Decorated over the front with a Buffalo "Goat Head" team crest that features both textured and embroidered details throughout, the distinguished alternate captain's "A" has been added over the left breast. Styled over the sleeves and verso with Ray's number "32" in stacked tri-layer tackle twill numerals, "Ray" is spelt out in dual layer white-over-red tackle twill letters across the affixed matching nameplate at the top of the reverse. Having had matching Sabres alternate logo patches placed over each shoulder, the jersey shows game-wear in the form of stick marks over the front, reverse and both sleeves while board burns are dotted throughout the Sabres patch on the right shoulder. Of note, staining is found on the inside of the left sleeve that is worth mentioning for accuracy. Featuring a customized fight strap on the interior that consists of snap buckles sewn into the existing strap and behind the team crest, the interior also shows minor pilling and a Sabres team tagging patch that has been sewn inside the reverse hem and denotes the jersey as being from the 2000-2001 season and is serial numbered "9020", matching the accompanying Sabres COA.
