Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction November 2023
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/28/2023
Drafted by Chicago in 1983, Marc Bergevin skated in over 1,000 NHL contests while representing eight different clubs. From his time in Vancouver, we have a Canucks Third jersey worn by the Montreal native in 2003-04 - his final NHL season. A label with "58" sizing is affixed to the collar. Styled with the Canucks Third team crest in layered tackle twill, "23" is sewn to the sleeves and verso in matching material, with the Canuck Place crest to the right shoulder. We should note that the jersey was also first worn by Martin Grenier this season (nameplate change), specifically on Feb 11, 2004 vs Calgary, and then by Bergevin on March 16, 2004 vs Nashville. As such, game-use is light, with a board burn visible on the left sleeve. A MeiGray patch numbered "B08952" is affixed to the inside hem, and according to the population report, the jersey is a "Third Set 2 - Nameplate Change M. Grenier" specimen. An LOA will accompany.
