Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction Spring 2023
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 5/2/2023
Widely regarded as the best hockey player to ever live, Gordie Howe played an incredible 32 years of professional hockey in both the NHL and WHA, winning multiple championships in each league. A 21x All-Star, 6x Art Ross Trophy winner and 6x Hart Memorial Trophy winner as well as a Hockey Hall of Fame inductee in 1972, offered here is this 2003-04 Upper Deck Ice “Authentics Jersey/Auto” card of Gordie Howe. Featuring a black and white image of Howe at the top right hand corner, a swatch of jersey red jersey from a Detroit uniform one worn by Howe is embedded over the front alongside the image while the hockey legend has penned a beautiful blue ink autograph that displays without issue underneath, adding his famous “Mr. Hockey” and number “9” inscription to the autograph in matching blue ink. Remaining in excellent condition with sharp corners and smooth edges, a slight surface imperfection is seen near the bottom left corner on the front with a few similar ones seen over the reverse as well that puts the card in the condition range of EX-MT to NM or better in our opinion.
