Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction Spring 2023

From the early days of the hallowed Olympia arena in Detroit, affectionately known as "The Old Red Barn", we offer a trio of Detroit Red Wings mid-1930s programs along with a pair of rare ticket stubs. Titled "The Puck", each program is a fold-over affair with each side opening to reveal four continuous pages. The line-ups are printed in the center, with a schedule also printed along with a serial number in each. After each second period, a number would be raffled, and the winning program holder would take home the game puck! This collection includes programs for Nov 24, 1935 vs Toronto (2-1 Red Wings victory), Feb 28, 1937 vs Canadiens with two ticket stubs (rare 0-0 tie), and Nov 15, 1937 vs Maroons (2-2 OT tie). The group shows light to moderate handling wear with a vertical fold - common for programs of the era, and no major damage (one program has tape along the spine). Finding 90 year old NHL programs along with the ticket stubs rarely happens, making this group highly desirable.
