The 2008-09 NHL season was kicked off with a series of four games played in Europe, with a pair of games played by Pittsburgh and Ottawa in Stockholm Sweden, along with a pair played by the New York Rangers and Tampa Bay Lightning in Prague Czech Republic. Up for grabs here, is this Ottawa Senators jersey worn by Antoine Vermette across the pond in Sweden on October 5th, 2008 vs the Pittsburgh Penguins. Made by Reebok, a single size “58” tag is affixed to the inner collar with the crests of the NHL and Reebok over the front and reverse necklines respectively. Decorated over the front with a Senators team crest that features both textured and embroidered details, the all-important “NHL Premiere Stockholm” patch has been attached over the right breast with matching Sens alternate logo patches residing over each shoulder. The sleeves and verso have been accented with Vermette’s number “20” in dual-layer tackle twill numerals with “Vermette” spelt out across the affixed matching nameplate. Worn for only a single game, the jersey shows just light wear in the form of light stick marks observed at the lower front and some loose threads both inside and out. A MeiGray patch numbered “F06871” is sewn inside the rear hem and according to the company’s population report, the jersey is a “White w/Premiere Stockholm Patch” offering. A matching LOA from the Senators will accompany.
