For those seeking an instant sports library, we offer this collection of vintage 1950s and 1960s issues of popular French-Canadian sports magazines that includes Sport-Revue, Les Sports, Le Sport Illustre and others totaling 107. Detailing all the latest news about Canadiens heroes such as Richard, Plante, Harvey, Beliveau and Geoffrion as well as other NHL stars such as Howe, Hull, Sawchuk, Keon and Mahovlich with beautiful imagery of them also over many of the front covers as well, other hockey leagues and sports of the era are also well represented such as the Quebec Senior Hockey League and the Montreal Royals. Starting with the Les Sports section of the collection, thirty-two (32) issues are present dating from 1948 to 1953 including a copy Vol. 1 No. 1 from March 1948. Next, issues of Sport-Revue total 44 with only a couple of duplicates present and also includes a couple of Hockey Annual issues produced by the publication as well. Once again, the stars of the era are seen over the covers in gorgeous full colour photography and the copies included date between 1957 and 1963. The last main section of one specific label comes in the form of eighteen (18) issues of Le Sport Illustre. Dating between 1950 and 1953 with the earliest issue dating from February 1950, the 5th issue ever produced. Once again displaying a variety of sports over the covers but dominated by hockey examples, issues of interest include those showing a young Jacques Plante on the cover from January 1952 and an issue from October 1952 displaying one of the first images of Jean Beliveau in a Canadiens uniform. The last of the collection includes a trio of La Revue des Sportifs issues, a single Sports Illustrated and a couple issues of Hockey Pictorial. Condition wise, most of the issues are in the range of VG to VG-EX condition with some showing heavier wear than others. Common flaws present include creases, corner bends, toning, light spine, edge and surface wear, pencil marks, liquid staining, tape/tape marks and small tears. Additionally, most of the magazines avoid the mailing labels, having originally been newsstand copies.
