Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction Spring 2023
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 5/2/2023
Responsible for the first year after year post-war hockey card sets, offered here is this small collection of Parkhurst hockey cards including examples from their 1951-52 (2), 1952-53 (30) and 1954-55 (2) assembly’s totalling 34. Mostly in a lower end grade range of G (good) to VG, some better examples included find themselves closer to the vicinity of VG-EX to EX in our opinion after inspection with notable flaws being rounded corners and creases along with some that show tape marks and surface stains. For the notable cards that make up the group, the 1951-52 RC of card #26 Bill Quackenbush is present in the scope of G to VG condition and displaying with rounded corners. Followed up by sophomore 1952-53 set specimens that include two (2) cards of Red Wings star Alex Delvecchio in G (rounded corners and creases) and VG (small top left border crease and some surface stains) range respectively, those are joined by 47-Flaman (G to VG – small light bottom left corner crease), 50-Solinger (VG – small top border crease) and 31-Rollins (VG-EX to EX – slight stain on the reverse). Finally 1954-55 cards include an example of #14 Doug Harvey in the scope of G (good) condition that sports a crease and rounded corners, as well as a copy of #92 “In Action” of Howe/Lumley that is also in the range of G (good) with rounded corners and a light crease.
