Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction Spring 2023
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 5/2/2023
In a career that saw him play parts of 20 seasons in the bleu, blanc et rouge, Jean Beliveau would capture 10 Stanley Cup Championships over the course of his career as a player and add seven more as a Canadiens executive after his retirement. Offered here, and sure to add a little bit of Coupe Stanley pedigree to your collection, is this lot of three (3) 1959-60 to 1963-64 Jean Beliveau hockey cards. Headlined by a copy of “Le Gros Bill’s” 1963-64 Parkies offering that has been slabbed by PSA, the graders have deemed it worthy of a respectable EX 5 mark with the card showing some corner wear and centering issues left-to-right on the front and right-to-left on the reverse. The PSA holder remains in presentable condition with some light scratches worth noting over both sides. Another copy of Jean’s 1963-64 card is included, this time in raw form that presents in the range of EX-MT condition with sharper corners and lighter toning than its graded counterpart but showcasing the same centering issues that are sure to knock it down a peg or two. Lastly, the oldest card of the bunch is this of Beliveau’s 1959-60 Parkhurst specimen, with the included copy showing good centering over both sides with some light corner wear and fuzziness along with some toning and light foxing that likely puts it in the scope of VG-EX to EX condition.
