One of the NHL’s legendary innovators as the first to regularly wear and develop the goal mask, Jacques Plante was also instrumental in helping to evolve the goaltending position itself, with his forays from the crease chasing loose pucks now commonplace amongst netminders. A 6-time Stanley Cup champion and a 7-time Vezina Trophy winner, offered here is this neat little display featuring Jacques Parkhurst hockey cards from Montreal's Stanley Cup winning seasons of 1957-58, 1958-59 and 1959-60. Measuring 7" x 11 1/2", the blue coloured piece of matte with windows for each of the three cards has had the specimens mounted to the reverse with framers tape over the matte and card backs that we don't seem to be able to remove without damaging the back portion of the cards where the tape is applied on. For the cards themselves, all three display with bright vivid colours while the 1957-58 example shows creasing and light surface wear over the front and reverse faces. For the two others, remaining crease free by the looks of things, both show light toning while the 1958-59 offering has a stain on the reverse. Additionally, some light wear is observed to the edges and corners of the matting itself. Overall, an excellent chance to acquire three (3) vintage cards from one of the greatest goalies to ever play the position in the National Hockey League.
