Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction June 2023
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/27/2023
The oldest continuously running professional sports franchise in the United States of America with roots dating back to 1876 when their home base was in Boston, the Braves would also call Milwaukee home in the 1950s and 1960s before settling in their current location of Atlanta beginning with the 1966 campaign. Stepping up to the plate here, is this collection of Atlanta Braves memorabilia, publications and books that includes complete runs of 1966 to 1988 media guides and Braves Illustrated yearbooks. All appearing to be complete, the condition of all the media guides and yearbooks is good with the collection displaying varying degrees of wear and flaws such as light-to-moderate handling, creases, toning, small tears, pen marks, stains and surface wear worth noting. Other items worth noting include a press kit and program from the 1969 National League Championship Series versus the New York Mets, a 1974 Hank Aaron media guide, an unscored program from the night Hank Arron hit homerun #715 to break Babe Ruth’s record with a 715 Sports Illustrated issues included as well, a September 3rd, 1966 first year program, various 1970s programs and scorebooks and other various books and magazines with all the items found largely in good-to-excellent condition with some items showing some of the flaws and wear noted above. Concluding the collection, is a group of sixteen (16) postseason media guides from 1982 to 2005 and fist and last game programs from Atlanta-Fulton County Stadium and Turner Field. A great collection for any Braves or baseball history enthusiast!
