Featuring a 66-card checklist that displays the images of the men suiting up for the New York Rangers, Chicago Black Hawks, Detroit Red Wings and Boston Bruins, this complete assembly of Topps’ 1959-60 hockey release includes the freshly graded card of Terry Sawchuk, who has earned the high praise of a NM-MT 8 with an “ST” designation as well due to a wax stain on the reverse, and additional PSA slabs that house the cards of Gordie Howe and Bobby Hull (his 2nd year example) with both having been given very respectable marks of EX-MT 6 after inspection. Of note, Eddie Shack’s card was also sent for graded but was sent back with a “MISCUT” label. The rest of the cards are found to be in a fairly uniform condition range of EX with many of them showing light corner wear. For the key offerings, card #15 of Gump Worsley is a bit better off, found in the scope of EX to EX-MT condition with a tiny bump on the back right edge. Those seen as being in the previously mentioned EX range include 2-Pilote (light corner wear and 70-30 centering), 6-Lindsay (tiny ding at bottom right), 23-Bucyk (light black coloured surface “snow” and 70-30 centering), 48-Howe In Action (light red surface marks at the left side) and 65-Kelly (off-center top-to-bottom). Rounding out the notables, card #8 of Alex Delvecchio is in the vicinity of VG-EX to EX range (wax stain on back) along with #32 Glenn Hall (right border scratch) while card #45 of Norm Ulman fall in the range of VG with light damage to the top border. In the set, cards #1, 11, 12, 13, 28, 31, 34, 44, 50, 53 and 62 all have wax stains on the back while #’s 3, 10, 25, 26, 34, 35, 36, 41 and 43 are all well off-centered. Finally, card #12 of Glen Skov shows a crease as well as the wax stain while #29 of Fern Flaman displays a crease as well. Additionally, six doubles are included for #’s 17, 18, 29, 31, 41 and 45 (Ulman) with all in the range of EX condition.
