An intimate 50-card set picturing only players and staff of the Montreal Canadiens and Toronto Maple Leafs, the 1959-60 Pakrhurst set was released for the last season of Montreal’s still unmatched run of five-straight Stanley Cups. Led by a total of eight (8) cards that have been just received back from grading by PSA, the group is led by NM 7’s of Jean Beliveau and Henri Richard while the rest of the group includes EX-MT 6’s of Frank Mahovlich and Maurice Richard, EX 5’s of King Clancy, Johnny Bower and Tim Horton and lastly, a lone very much still respectable VG 3 of Jacques Plante. In an overall fairly uniform condition range of EX to EX-MT for the rest of the cards, most of the desirable cardboard that is included shows very light red surface “snow” with cards #10 (Johnson), #26 (Stewart), #34 (Hampson), #36 (Smythe) and #49 (Talbot) the exceptions, showing far noticeable amounts of it. For the key cards, those of 7-Armstrong, 8-Harvey, 14-Moore, 15-Imlach, 27-Blake and 33-Geoffrion are all in the condition scope of EX-MT while an additional copy of card #33 of Bernie “Boom Boom” Geoffrion is included and falls in the range of VG-EX to EX due to a dent at the top border.
