Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction Spring 2023

A fabulous opportunity to score some captivating 1968-69 Topps cards presents itself here, with the entire 132-card assembly up for grabs here in a strong uniform high-grade condition range of EX-MT to NM. We do observe a lightly touched corner here and there, or the odd light corner ding, with some diamond cuts and some not-straight edges but can report of the previously mentioned EX-MT to NM scope being the dominate finding for majority of the set with lesser exceptions few and far between while not being far off the group defining mark. The notable 2nd year offering of Bobby Orr is found in the vicinity of EX-MT to NM, displaying with 85-15 centering left-to-right while the rookie card of Bernie Parent is one of the few condition exceptions, still found in a very respectable EX-MT+ range in our books, with a bit of corner wear at the top right. Other keys in the EX-MT to NM range include 1-Cheevers, 7-Esposito, 16-Hull, 20-Mikita, 29-Howe (slight diamond cut), 31-Mahovlich, 34-Sawchuk, 61-Beliveau, 62-Cournoyer, 122-Bower (off-center top-to-bottom) and 123-Horton. Card #121, the checklist, is also seen as EX-MT to NM, remaining unmarked but is off-center top-to-bottom. Topps’ first official hockey set offered throughout the USA, other than the ’66-67 Test issue, (and featuring members from the six expansion teams for the first time), awaits is deserved “action” and we surmise that you’ll be very pleased to have come out on top of the bidding when this splendid stack is delivered.
