This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 5/2/2023
The only player of the era that could be put into the same class as “The Great One”, Wayne Gretzky, Mario Lemieux would register 1723 points in 915 career games played. Leading his Pittsburgh Penguins to back-to-back Stanley Cups in 1991 and 1992, offered here is this Mario Lemieux Penguins jersey that has been signed by the hockey legend. Made by CCM with both brand and size “XL” tagging affixed to the inner collar, the front has been decorated with the Penguins team crest and the distinguished captain’s “C” over the left breast while the all-important 1992 Stanley Cup Finals patch sits over the opposite side. Remaining in new-with-tags condition, the sleeves and verso have been decorated with Mario’s number “66” in layered tackle twill numerals with “Lemieux” spelt out across the affixed black twill nameplate in single layer yellow twill letters. Additionally, Lemieux has signed the first back number “6” with a black ink signature that displays without issue. An AJ Sports World hologram has been affixed underneath the signature and is accompanied by a matching COA.
