Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction Spring 2023
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 5/3/2023
One of only six legendary players – along with Wayne Gretzky and Marcel Dionne – to have his number retired by the Los Angeles Kings franchise, Luc Robitaille received the honour on Jan 7, 2007, after seeing action with the club in fourteen seasons, spread over three separate stints. This large number banner was presented to the Hall of Fame superstar, and it appears to match the example raised to the rafters of the Staples Center in style, size and construction. At approx 72” x 98” and in Kings colours, the nylon banner features Luc’s “20” in tackle twill, with “Robitaille” above, with striping bands placed above and below. Accompanying the banner, we have a copy of the Jan 21, 2007 sports column from the Los Angeles Times profiling Robitaille’s number retirement, with each section matted and framed to full dimensions of approx 31 ½” x 34”. Of note, some light wear is found over the sides of the frame in the form of light scratches and scuffs. A signed LOA from Luc Robitaille will accompany.
Please be advised that while all of our frames are thoroughly and safely packaged for shipping, due to the size and/or weight, and dependent upon the shipping company, we should mention that damage may occur in transit. Please note that as such, we are not responsible for damage to frames that occur during shipping and in some cases special shipping arrangements may need to be made
