Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction Winter 2023
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/28/2023
A decade that saw individual dynasties by the New York Islanders and Edmonton Oilers, each winning four Stanley Cups, the Montreal Canadiens and Calgary Flames also got in on the winning ways with both grabbing a cup of their own. Routinely dominated by Wayne Gretzky and Mario Lemieux on a nightly basis, offered here is this mostly 1980s hockey card collection up for grabs. Made up of approximately 275 total cards, examples of Jari Kurri’s 1981-82 O-Pee-Chee rookie card and Pat LaFontaine’s 1984-85 O-Pee-Chee rookie card pace the group with the Kurri in the range of VG-EX/EX condition and the LaFontaine falling around EX-MT but is off-center. Including a few 1970s and 1990s offerings mixed in, cards from numerous stars of the era are included such as Bourque, Sittler, Lidstrom, Lemieux, Hull, Vachon, Potvin, Bucyk, Perreault, Lafleur, Parent, Salming, McDonald and Robinson, the cards are in a mixed condition range but are largely in the vicinity of VG/EX. Including a 1982-83 Gretzky Neilson near complete set that is missing cards #33 and #46, the rest present in the same VG/EX condition listed above in our opinions. A complete set of 1991-92 Future Trends ’72 Team Canada cards is also included as are five 1990-91 Score Eric Lindros rookie cards, rounding out the collection.
