Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction Spring 2023
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 5/2/2023
The last active player upon his retirement in 2004 that witnessed action in the WHA, Mark Messier is a veteran of over 1,700 regular season NHL games, with appearances made in an astounding 15 All-Star Games. We have a signed stick used by the HOFer during his time in Manhattan with the Rangers, in the mid-1990s, circa 1996-97, with this specimen originally obtained by Dino Ciccarelli for his father who is now deceased. A Louisville TPS Graphite model, “Messier” appears stamped over the stem of the inserted wooden blade (the blade is painted white, with Messier visible beneath), with the original black tape over the handle and knob. The blade tape has been removed to facilitate the large black marker signature, preceded by "All the best Dino!". The signature displays well, with a few marks to the blade along with tape residue, with just light wear to the shaft. Hailing from the Dino Ciccarelli personal collection, a signed LOA from Dino Ciccarelli will accompany.
