Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction Spring 2023

The youngest winner of the Vezina Trophy for best goaltender as an 18-year-old rookie in 1984, Tom Barasso is the also youngest NHL netminder to ever be awarded the Calder Memorial Trophy. The Boston native backstopped the Pittsburgh Penguins to a pair of consecutive Stanley Cup championships, in 1991 and 1992. This signed stick was used by Barrasso in 1995-96 with the Penguins, and was originally obtained by Dino Ciccarelli for his father who is now deceased. A Heaton Pro 90Z model with "T Barrasso" stamped to the upper shaft, the original black tape is secure over the lower paddle and blade, along with the white-over-black on the knob. The stick also sports a date stamp that appears to read "23 Fev 1996". Nice game-use is shown with wear to the taped section of blade including a few tears, with a few additional marks to the shaft and paddle. Barrasso has signed the lower paddle in black marker, with the signature blending into the graphics somewhat. Hailing from the Dino Ciccarelli personal collection, a signed LOA from Dino Ciccarelli will accompany.
