Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction Spring 2023
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 5/2/2023
The first goaltender in history to capture the Ted Lindsay, William Jennings, Vezina and Hart trophies all in one season (2015), Carey Price, drafted 5th overall by the Montreal Canadiens in 2005, stands alone as the franchise’s winningest goalie of all-time, registering 361 wins over 15 seasons with famed the bleu, blanc et rouge. Offered here and hailing from the 2021-22 season that saw him play only five (5) games, is this Habs jersey issued to and prepared for use by Price. Made by Adidas, a band displaying a size “58G” designation is affixed to the inner collar while a heat pressed “1” tag to denote the jersey as a first set offering is found underneath, partially covering the screened on “Prime Green” graphics. Decorated over the front with the familiar “CH” Canadiens crest with NHL and Adidas patches found over the front and reverse necklines, the sleeves and verso have been accented with Price’s number “31” in dual-layer white-over-blue tackle twill numerals. “Price” is spelt out across the affixed matching nameplate in single layer white twill letters. Sporting a cut-out fight strap on the interior, something commonly seen on Price’s jerseys, the jersey remains in beautiful condition, showing just a small fabric snag on the front under the team crest. A team patch numbered “A0366” is sewn inside the rear hem while a Canadiens hologram numbered “GU27003” is found affixed to the bottom of the reverse “3”, with a matching team COA accompanying the piece. Of note, the COA incorrectly lists the jersey as game-worn and not game-issued and a pen mark is present over the back of the collar.
