Two of the greatest players to ever wear the black and gold for the Boston Bruins, both Bobby Orr and Ray Bourque would patrol the B’s blueline for most of their respective storied careers before taking their places among hockey’s best in the hallowed halls of the Hockey Hall of Fame with both also having their numbers retired by the Bruins. Offered here, is this collection of 1970’s to 1990’s O-Pee-Chee, Topps and other brands hockey cards of HOFers Bobby Orr and Ray Bourque. Starting with the Orr examples, the oldest cards of his bunch include a 1971-72 Topps booklet that is the condition range of VG-EX with light bends as well as two 1971-72 OPC #251 All-Star cards found in the scope of EX-MT and G to VG conditions with the latter showing corner wear and creases. Other noteworthy Orr cards include a 1973-74 OPC (EX-MT – slight top left corner wear), two 1974-75 OPC’s in G and G to VG conditions with one showing corner wear along with surface stains and the other showing corner wear along with creases, and finally, three 1978-79 OPC’s, the special collectors card, with all three showing in the scope of VG to VG-EX condition. For the Bourque cards, the group includes a quartet of his 1980-81 OPC rookie cards with the grades after inspection being determined as EX-MT to NM, EX-MT (off-center) and VG x2 (rounded corners). From the same set is a pair of Ray’s record breaker cards, both in the range of EX to EX-MT while the last notable is a second year 1981-82 O-Pee-Chee card that is off-center and has a ding at the top right corner, found in the condition scope of VG-EX. The bulk of the collection includes O-Pee-Chee, Topps and other brands examples from the late-1970s and 1990s for Orr including numerous leader cards while those for Bourque date from the 1980s to the early-1990s from O-Pee-Chee, Topps and other brands as well. Most are seen as being in the EX to EX-MT condition range with some better examples also included.
