A winner of four Stanley Cups during his days with the Edmonton Oilers, Wayne Gretzky, appropriately dubbed “The Great One”, would play in 18 NHL All-Star Games over the course of his 20-year career, setting the all-time record for points in the midseason contest as well. Up on the auction block here, is this collection of four (4) 2005-06 Upper Deck Ultimate Game Jersey cards with all featuring the game’s all-time greatest player. Including two different variations, one with Wayne in his Oilers uniform and the other picturing him during the 1996 All-Star Game, adding to the appeal of the cards, present is both the regular and gold parallel variations of each issue. For the cards showing him in his Oilers garb, the regular version, serial numbered “031/250” and the gold version, numbered “33/75” contain orange and blue mesh jersey swatches. The cards picturing him during the 1996 All-Star contest, the regular variation is serial numbered “087/250” with a black jersey swatch while the gold version carries a serial number of “01/75 and a white coloured piece of material. Three of the four cards remain in excellent condition with only light corner and edge wear to mention including cards #UGJ-WG1 (87/250), #UGJ-WG2 (33/75) and #UGJ-WG2 (31/250). Card #UGJ-WG1 (01/75) shows similar wear as well as surface flaws to the top left corner on the front and reverse as well as the reverse left edge.
