Witnessing post-season action with the Blueshirts on five occasions, Ryan Callahan would play in seven playoff games for the New York Rangers in 2008-09, scoring 2 goals during their seven (7) game first round series versus the Washington Capitals. Offered here, is this Rangers jersey worn by Callahan during the 2008-09 regular season and playoffs. A Reebok made offering, a lone size “56” tag is affixed to the inner collar that also displays Callahan’s number “24” hand written in blue marker. Having had both NHL shield and Reebok patches added over both the front and reverse necklines, the front of the jersey is decorated with “Rangers” diagonally down the chest in blue-over-red drop shadow tackle twill letters below a classic tie-neck style collar. Accented over the sleeves and verso with Ryan’s number “24” in matching style, “Callahan” is spelt out in matching style as well in letters that are arched across the affixed matching nameplate. Exhibiting game-wear via board burns over the shoulders and both sleeves, light stick marks are observed at the right armpit and left shoulder seam plus cuff while streaks/spots of coloured board paint transfers are seen over each sleeve as well. Showcasing a MeiGray patch numbered “F09414” sewn inside the left hip, according to the company’s population report, the jersey is a “White Set 3 / Playoffs” specimen. Additionally, the jersey has been photo-matched with Getty Image #86263250 (April 24th, 2009 vs Washington – ECQF Game 5) to the large red coloured board burn over Callahan’s left shoulder. A matching LOA will accompany the piece.
