A two-time Stanley Cup Champion with the Tampa Bay Lightning who was originally drafted 12th overall by the Montreal Canadiens in 2007, Ryan McDonagh would spend the first 8 years of his NHL career in the bright lights of Manhattan with the New York Rangers and serve as captain for three and a half seasons. Offered here, is this Rangers jersey worn by McDonagh during the 2014-15 season in the first round of the 2015 NHL Playoffs against the Pittsburgh Penguins. Made by Reebok, a size “58” flag tag is affixed to the collar, with a Rangers barcode affixed above along with a Steiner Sports hologram while NHL and Reebok crests reside over the front and reverse necklines respectively. The front is decorated with “Rangers” placed diagonally down the chest of the tie-neck garment in red-over-white drop-shadow tackle twill with the distinguished captain’s “C” is affixed over the left breast. McDonagh’s number “27” is sewn to the sleeves and verso in matching material, with “McDonagh” spelt out across the affixed arching nameplate. Worn for a total of three games, the jersey shows moderate game-use through a handful of board burns over both sleeves and the back of the right shoulder while a trio of stick marks are observed over the lower reverse. Additionally, the jersey is photo-matched with Getty Image #579699602 (April 18th, 2015 vs Pittsburgh – ECQF Game 2) to the board burn above the “7” on the right sleeve and the board burn seen on the inside of the left sleeve. A matching Steiner LOA will accompany the piece.
