The grandson of NHL Hall of Famer Sid Abel, goaltender Brent Johnson played in both the OHL and AHL before making his NHL debut in 1998-99 with St Louis. After parts of five seasons with the Blues and eight games with Phoenix, Johnson was claimed on waivers by Washington. This Capitals jersey was worn by the Michigan native in 2006-07. A sewn-down CCM label is affixed to the collar, with the jersey measuring-out to a size 58. Styled with the Caps tackle twill team crest that saw use for a decade from 1997 to 2007, “27” appears over the sleeves and verso in stylized, oversized numbers, with matching alternate crests over each shoulder and NHL and Reebok crests to the bottom hem and reverse necklines respectively. Showing just very light use including a few faint marks, the MeiGray patch is affixed to the inside hem near the team patch, and according to the company's population report, the jersey is a "Black Set 2" specimen. An LOA from the Capitals will accompany.
