An intriguing and alluring ensemble of cards from Parkhurst’s 1995-96 set, offered here is this set of thirteen (13) cards featuring images from the career of Mr. Hockey, Gordie Howe ranging from his childhood all the way to late in his Red Wings tenure. Adding to their appeal, eight (8) of the included cards have been signed by the 6x Art Ross Trophy winner, each displaying a fine black ink signature penned by Howe and all displaying without issue. With most of the signed examples having been graded by Beckett, six (6) in total, one (1) displays a mark of MINT 9, four (4) carry designations of NM-MT+ 8.5, and one (1) shows a grade of NM-MT 8. All the cards have had their autographs graded as well, with all six earning perfect “10” marks from the graders, with the number proudly displayed on the label at the top of the holder. All also featuring subgrades, none fall below the very respectable high-grade number of 8. Furthermore, each card is hand serial numbered on the reverse out of 500 with the cards present here numbered “075/500”, “061/500”, “155/500”, “449/500”, “227/500” and “408/500” respectively. Additionally, another signed card is included from the set, this time graded 9 NEAR MINT or BETTER by BCCG with the autograph once again showing flawlessly. Serial numbered “023/500” on the reverse, the last signed example to bring us up to eight (8) total, is ungraded but appears to be in the condition range of EX-MT to NM and is serial numbered “207/500” with the signature on the front once again flawless. Lastly, a group of all five cards that make up the set, this time the unsigned examples, are present and appear to remain in a condition scope of EX-MT or better. For the graded offerings, it is worth noting that all the holders remain in good condition with only light scratches and/or scuffs worth noting.
