Taking part in four of the five Canada Cup tournaments occurring between 1976 and 1991, Wayne Gretzky would lead all scorers in each, and would be named the MVP at the 1987 event. Up for grabs here, is this “Canada Cup” style Team Canada pro on-ice jersey of Gretzky that has been signed by “The Great One” himself. An all-white CCM made air-knit material offering with both CCM and size “54” tags affixed to the inner collar, the front has been decorated with the classic Team Canada “Canada Cup” style logo heat screened over the front and sleeves in red. Accented over the reverse with Wayne’s famed number “99” also in single layer red tackle twill numbers, “Gretzky” has been spelt out across the top of the back in matching style over the affixed white tackle twill nameplate. Remaining in overall excellent condition, the jersey features pro style elements including a fight strap and reinforced elbows while Gretzky specific customizations are found in the form of dual embroidered CCM logos over the reverse and a Velcro swatch sewn into the inner reverse hem. Signed over the first reverse number "9" with a bold black marker ink signature that shows some light bleeding and bunching, Wayne has added an inscription reading "good luck" in matching style and condition above the autograph on the same number. A fantastic offering of one of international hockey's all-time best talents, a Shawn Chaulk LOA will accompany the piece.
