A fantastic trio of items celebrating the time “The Great One” spent in his second NHL stop of Los Angeles, offered here is this collection of Gretzky signed Kings memorabilia including a Wayne Gretzky pro style Los Angeles Kings jersey, a signed Easton Aluminum 5100 stick and a signed program from the October 9th, 2002 contest in which they retired Wayne’s iconic number “99”. Starting with the jersey, the CCM made offering features Center Ice, Maska and size “52” labeling affixed to the inner collar with the front of the black jersey decorated with the Kings team crest that features embroidered details as well as the alternate captain’s “A” over the left breast in layered tackle twill. Accented over the sleeves and verso with Gretzky’s “99” in similar style and “Gretzky” across the upper back over the affixed matching nameplate, the pro style jersey features double CCM logos embroidered over the reverse hem as well as a fight strap on the interior and Gretzky specific customizations on the inside reverse hem including a “99” number patch and Velcro swatch over the right hip. In good condition, light dirt marks are seen throughout with ghosting outlines of prior numbers seen on the sleeves.
The stick, similar to what Gretzky used with the Kings during the mid-1990s, is an an Easton Aluminum 5100 model with an inserted wooden Easton blade. Still covered by its plastic wrap on the shaft and void of any Gretzky identifiers, the knob/handle is covered by a black Jack The Gripper, with both the shaft and blade in good unused condition and displaying just light marks, Gretzky has signed the blade with a bold black ink signature that displays without issue.
The last item, a program from October 9th, 2002 when the Kings retired “The Great One’s” jersey is also included. Complete at 25 pages with the line-up card as well and displaying only very light handling wear, Gretzky has signed a rushed signature in blue marker over his image on the cover, with the autograph displaying well with some lightness at the start of the “W”. A wonderful trio of items, a Shawn Chaulk LOA will accompany the lot.
