Drafted 196th overall by the New York Rangers at the 1985 NHL Draft, Steve Nemeth played in only 12 National Hockey League games over the course of his career, all with the Rangers. A member of the infamous 1987 Canadian World Junior Championship squad in Piestany, offered here is this Canadian National Team jersey worn by Nemeth during the 1988-89 season. A CCM made garment with a washed out Maska Air-Knit tagging affixed to the inner collar, an embroidered red, white and blue CCM logo graces the reverse hem. Measuring out to a size “52”, the front sports a textured and partially embroidered Hockey Canada team crest with matching logo patches residing over each shoulder. Accented over the sleeves and verso with Nemeth’s number “11” in layered tackle twill, “Nemeth” has been spelt out across the affixed matching nameplate in single layer white satin twill letters. Exhibiting good game-wear, stick marks and board burns are observed over both sleeves with more stick marks along with fabric snags seen over the front. A team repair is found near the lower front hem while a large section of board paint transfer is present over the rear hemline. On the interior of the jersey, the fight strap shows rusting and salting while light pilling is seen at the elbows/armpits and the lower front.
