One of Motor City’s all-time greatest, Steve Yzerman spent his entire career with the Detroit Red Wings, registering over 1,700 points including almost 700 goals and helping lead the Red Wings to three Stanley Cup Championships. Hailing from the 1997-98 season, we offer this stick used by Stevie-Y that has had a piece with tape with “1998 Stanley Cup Finals Game 2” written affixed to the backside of the upper shaft. An Easton T-Flex model that is void of any stamped or printed Yzerman identifiers, the longtime captain’s original tape job of red-cloth-over-white is found over the handle/knob with the blade tape having been removed. A handwritten “19” has been handwritten in black ink at the bottom of the handle tape. It must be noted that photos from the 1998 SCF show Yzerman using the exact same model of stick with one photo showing a close-up of the knob showing the ''19'' written vertically instead of horizontally. Sporting light-game use over the lower shaft, heel and toe of the blade via a small number of light marks/abrasions, Yzerman has signed the forehand side of the blade with a beautiful gold ink signature that displays without issue.
