Seldomly seen and increasing in rarity year after year, the 1952-53 Bedard & Donaldson Junior Blue Tint hockey offerings were originally thought of as having been issued as an update set of the previous seasons release. Junior teams from Ontario and Quebec played an inter-locking schedule in 1952-53, explaining the "blue tint" set's lineup. Up for grabs here, is a complete 182-card assembly of Bedard & Donaldson’s 1952-53 Junior Blue Tint release as well as an additional forty-five (45) extra cards. Including an eye-widening seven (7) examples of card #139 picturing a young Henri Richard as well as two (2) Don Cherry specimens, the Richard offerings include five (5) in the range of EX condition with one in the scope of VG-EX to EX and the other around VG-EX. The Cherry’s include one at VG and the other at VG-EX. Of note, one of the Richards does show a crease at the top left corner but otherwise, all are crease free. Other better cards worth noting include three (3) Al Arbour examples with two (2) in the range of FR/G and the other closer to VG with one appearing to have been signed on the front but it is unknown if Arbour was the signor. Also worth mentioning are examples of 64-Marcel Paille (VG-EX – light corner wear), 73-Camille Henry (x3 all Citadels uniform examples, one in FR to G range having been “signed” on the front, one G to VG with corner creases and the last one VG-EX with light corner wear.), 80-Phil Watson (G to VG – corner wear, light stain), 85-Harry Sinden (G to VG – surface wear front and back), 129-Charlie Hodge (VG – Stain on reverse) and 157-Ed Chadwick (VG – Stain on back). A remarkable offering that is sure to enhance any collection, don’t let these rarities pass you by!
