A two-time James Norris winner while also earning the Conn Smythe Trophy in 1978, Larry Robinson was honoured by the most storied club in hockey when his number was raised to the rafters, never to be worn again, on November 19th, 2007. Hailing from Robinson’s jersey retirement night, we offer this Canadiens alternate captain’s jersey worn during the contest by Alexei Kovalev. Sporting a size “58+” label affixed to the inner collar, crests for the NHL and Reebok adorn the front and back necklines respectively. Decorated over the front with the famed “CH” crest of Les Canadiens, the right breast has the commemorative Larry Robinson Jersey Retirement Night patch affixed with the distinguished alternate captain’s “A” over the opposite side. The sleeves and verso of the jersey have been accented with Kovalev’s number “27” in dual layer blue-over-white tackle twill numerals with “Kovalev” spelt out across the affixed matching nameplate in single layer white twill letters. Worn for just a single contest, the jersey shows very light use through light stick marks to the right sleeve and a small board burn over the right hip. The interior of the jersey has had a Canadiens team tag sewn into the reverse hem and the fight strap has been cut out. A Canadiens hologram has been affixed to the reverse number “7” and is accompanied by a matching team LOA.
