Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction Winter 2023
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/28/2023
Challenging is Topps’ 1967-68 issue, with a pieced-together effort here dominated by lower grade components, (including many of the star/key cards), but with some attractive crease-free entries also involved. The three Bobby Orr examples are P (#92), F (118-Calder Trophy) and G (128-All-Star), while 43-Howe (pierced) and 131-Howe AS (back damage) are P. Those major flaws affect ten others (38-Sather RC, 99-Cheevers), with another four dozen in the P-F-G range, the most notable being 113-Hull, 64-Mikita Triple, 74-Beliveau and 127-Horton AS. Leading the condition highlights (18) at EX or better are 75-Vachon RC (EX-MT), 34-Shack, 42-Bucyk, 76-Bower, 79-Mahovlich and 129-Hall AS (OC), with five similarly-looking cards technically lowered to VG+ by either a small, very subtle light crease (32-Esposito, 33-Sanderson RC) or a factory-produced vertical wrinkle (90-Gilbert, 121-Howell AS, 124-Hull AS). Completing are some 40 in the respectable VG to VG-EX realm, including 1-Worsley, 11-Keon, 16-Horton, 70-Cournoyer and 114-Mikita. Not present are the two checklists and #s 2-Duff, 3-Lemaire RC, 89-Brown and 98-Hodge. Multiple possibilities are to consider with this varied batch.
