Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction Spring 2023
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 5/2/2023
Taking place on December 2nd, 1967, the year of Canada’s 100th birthday, the Hamilton Tiger-Cats and Saskatchewan Roughriders faced off for the 55th Grey Cup in the capital city of Ottawa with the “Steeltown” gang coming away with a 24-1 victory. Up for grabs here is an incredible piece of CFL history in the form of this 1967 Grey Cup film reel produced for Labatt Breweries of Canada Limited by Chetwynd Films. At 31:35 in length, the 16mm film is housed in brown coloured metal canister that measures 12 ½” inches in diameter and shows just light wear with the label on the front also in good condition. Simply titled “Centennial Grey Cup 1967 Labatt Pilsner Version” the film itself appears to be free of defects when inspected.
