The first O-Pee-Chee baseball release in nearly three decades, the 1965 set released by the Canadian company consisted of a 283-card checklist, smaller than the Topps release, with the design mimicking that of its American counterpart. Offered here, is this 1965 O-Pee-Chee baseball complete set as well as some extras. In an overall consistent grade range close to EX, many of the cards show corner wear to some degree with only a few of the cards displaying with creases. With the card of Willie Mays (#250) leading the way condition wise out of all those worth mentioning, the “Say Hey Kid” is found in the condition vicinity of EX/EX-MT with 70-30 centering. Cards 16-Morgan (RC), 120-F. Robinson, 150-B. Robinson and 155-Maris are seen in the range of EX condition while cards 8-Koufax/Drysdale, 130-Kaline, 134-Mantle, 170-Aaron and 260-Drysdale are seen in the scope of VG/VG-EX. Other key cardboard offerings within the checklist include those of 2-Clemente/Aaron and 176-McCovey in the range of VG/EX as well as 160-Clemente and 207-Rose in the vicinity of VG. The four checklist cards #79, #104, #189 and #273 respectively are all unmarked except for the last in the quartet which is also OC. For the aforementioned extras that are included, 34 are O-Pee-Chee’s, highlighted by #150 Brooks Robinson in the range of VG-EX/EX and #193 Gaylord Perry, who shows a crease and is around the grade of G for good. Additionally, sixteen (16) 1965 Topps cards are present with the most notable card being a #120 Frank Robinson that shows in EX/EX-MT.
