Ending on a controversial pass incompletion, the 41st Grey Cup game featured the Hamilton Tiger-Cats taking on the Winnipeg Blue Bombers at Varsity Stadium in Toronto, on Nov 28, 1953. Taking place in front of over 27,000, the Tiger-Cats took an early 6-0 lead, with both clubs adding 6 points during the third quarter to finish with a 12-6 Hamilton victory. defensive tackle Vincent Joseph "Boomer" Scott spent 13 seasons with Hamilton, and we offer the gold ring presented to the New York native for the Tiger-Cats' 1953 Grey Cup championship. Size 9 1/2 with an approximate weight of 10 grams, the tableau features the period city of Hamilton coat of arms (the ring was most likely presented by the city of Hamilton), with clean tiered shanks. The inner band is engraved with "1953 Grey Cup Champs V.J.S.". Made of gold, we should note that no visible karat stamp can be found. Additionally, the inside band has a cut from either the manufacturing process or because it was resized, but as there is no text missing, it was most likely part of the manufacturing process. Sporting good wear from use, there are small dings and scratches throughout, with the ring displaying beautifully. This is the first example of this ring we have ever seen.
