The first Czech player to defect directly to a U.S.-based NHL team, Petr Klima initially spent a pair of seasons in his homeland with ASD Dukla Jihlava before making his North American debut with the Detroit Red Wings in 1985-86. Enjoying a lengthy career, Klima returned to Detroit for his final NHL season in 1998-99. This Red Wings jersey was worn by the 1990 Stanley Cup champion during his rookie season in Motown in 1985-86, where he netted 56 points including 32 goals. Maska labeling is affixed to the collar with a born-on date tag of "85 10", with the jersey measuring out to a size 50. Featuring the classic Red Wings team crest with embroidered detailing, "85" is sewn to the sleeves and verso in single white twill, with "Klima" arching over the upper reverse in matching material. There is also an Eastside logo over the reverse hem, with "60th season" embroidered to the left shoulder. The jersey was recycled, with #23 previously over the sleeves and verso, with evidence of what appears to be "Zombo" (Rick) formerly over the upper reverse, with these alterations all period to the era (Zombo played 14 games for Detroit in 1985-86). Light game-use is exhibited on the gamer, with a few burn marks along with minor stains to the front band and right elbow section.
