Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction September 2023
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 9/19/2023
Just the third player in NHL history to record 1,000 career assists, Marcel Dionne joined Wayne Gretzky and Gordie Howe in the 1,000 points club on Nov 7, 1987, as a New York Ranger in a return game against his former team, the Los Angeles Kings. This puck was used to score the milestone point, and was gifted by Dionne to Kings trainer Pete Demers. An InGlasCo model with screened Kings logo to the obverse, Dionne has signed above the logo in blue ballpoint, adding "To Pete", with "1000 Assists" written beneath. The puck shows just light wear from use, with a transfer mark across the team logo and a few cuts and marks to the reverse side. This is an important milestone which elevated Marcel Dionne to the status of one of the game's all-time greats. An LOA will accompany from Pete Demers.
