The defending Stanley Cup Champions, the Montreal Canadiens would be back in the Stanley Cup Finals in 1966. Pitted against the Detroit Red Wings, the Canadiens would win their 2nd Cup in as many season, closing the series out in 6 games. Offered here, is this duo of programs from the 1966 Finals between the Habs and Red Wings including an example from the Cup clinching 6th game. The program from Game 1 at the Forum remains complete at 56-pages and shows an image of Jean-Guy Talbot on the cover along with the purchase price of .50 cents. The centre line-up remains, displaying the date of April 24th, 1966. Showing some toning to the inner pages with staining and residue on the first page inside the cover, the covers of the booklet, measuring 8” x 11”, show some surface wear as well as creasing and small tears. The spine has light wear with staples that remain rust free. The program from the Cup clinching Game 6, played at the Olympia in Detroit, measuring 8 ½” x 11”, displays the date of May 5th, 1966 on the front cover along with an action shot from earlier in the series with the question of if the series would end that night plastered underneath (oh the foreshadowing!). Complete at 32-pages, the centre line-up remains affixed on the inside with the interior pages showing toning along with light spots and staining observed on some. The covers show heavier wear, with surface wear, toning, creasing and a number of small tears over the front with no tears but red marks exhibited on the back. The spine shows light wear with rusting to the top staple.
