Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction December 2022

The 1960 NHL Stanley Cup playoffs featured the regular season champion Montreal Canadiens facing off against their chief rival in the final, the Toronto Maple Leafs, for the second straight season. While managing to take a game off the current Stanley Cup champions in the 1959 final, the Leafs came up short against the powerful Habs and all-time finals leading goal scorer Maurice Richard, losing four straight. Rocket Richard scored his 34th and last goal in the finals, a record that still stands today! Hailing from the Cup clinching game 4, won by Montreal 4-0, we offer this Maple Leaf Gardens program from the 1960 Stanley Cup Finals. Measuring roughly 7” x 10”, the complete 80-page program shows a black and white photo of Carl Brewer on the cover as well as the original purchase price of .25 cents. The centre line-up page remains intact, showing the date of April 16th, 1960 and “Stanley Cup Finals 4th Game” with no fewer than 19 future HOFers listed between the two clubs. In fantastic condition, toning is seen on the inside pages with only light corner, edge and surface wear observed to the front and back covers. Light wrinkes are also seen bottom edge of the middle pages. The spine shows light wear with no rusting present on the staples. An excellent artifact from Montreal’s fifth consecutive Stanley Cup, something surely to never be repeated.
