Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction December 2022

Making their 9th consecutive appearance in the Stanley Cup Finals, the Montreal Canadiens, vying for their 4th straight Stanley Cup championship, were pitted up against the Toronto Maple Leafs, making their first trip back to the Cup Final since winning it in 1951. The Canadiens would knock off the Leafs in five games, giving the franchise their 11th Stanley Cup. Hailing from game 4, won by Montreal 3-2, we offer this Maple Leaf Gardens program from the 1959 Stanley Cup Finals. Measuring roughly 7” x 10”, the complete 80-page program shows a black and white photo of Carl Brewer on the cover as well as the original purchase price of .25 cents. The centre line-up page remains intact, showing the date of April 16th, 1959 and “Stanley Cup Finals” and no fewer than 18 future HOFers listed between the two clubs. In absolutely beautiful condition, toning is seen on the interior pages with just light imperfections found to the front and back covers and nothing wrong with the interior pages. The spine shows only the slightest wear with no rust present to the staples. A must have from the middle of Montreal’s run of five consecutive Stanley Cups, something surely to never be repeated.
