A first-round selection in both the NHL and WHA drafts of 1973, Darcy Rota chose to play for the Chicago Black Hawks and scored over 220 points in his first six NHL seasons with the club. We have a stick used by Rota that has been team-signed by the 1976-77 Black Hawks including Orr, accompanied by a group of 15 1976-77 O-Pee-Chee Black Hawks hockey cards including Orr. A Northland Pattern model with “Rota” stamped and “18” handwritten, the original white ribbed tape job remains over the handle, with the blade tape removed. Exhibiting light game-use with wear to the underside blade and a few marks to the shaft, approx 18 have signed one side of the shaft in ballpoint including Rota and the aforementioned Orr (solid example), along with Esposito, McKegney, Harrison, Martin, Hull, Boldirev, Bordeleau, Mulvey, Russell and others. A few of the signatures are light. The 1976-77 cards include the Rota and Orr (corner creases), along with Magnuson, Tallon, Marks, Daigle, Bordeleau, Espo, Korroll, Martin, Mulvey, Magnuson, Russell, Harrison, Hull and Boldirev. The majority of the cards display nicely with lower technical grades.
